Morgan and Timmy Andorf
It is a sad day in the Andorf family.
We have given Morgan and Timmy up for adoption and Morgan’s new family picked him up today.
The decision came after a lot of thought and for a lot of reasons.
It was not due to how he was with Carissa – he very good around her.
We just needed a less stressful environment for the new Mom and our sweet baby Carissa.
Hopefully, it will be for the best for all involved.
The new family seems nice.
They have three young boys who all wanted a dog really badly.
They also have two cats. They have a big fenced in yard and they like to go to the lake and go camping.
Morgan’s new owner also said she likes to go on walks so Morgan should get some more exercise (he could use to lose a few pounds).
Also, all their neighbors have dogs and they like to pla
y with each other – something Morgan does not get to do very often.
Even though it seems like he is going to a good family it is still very hard to let go of him.
I just worry about his safety and if he will be happy in a new environment.
A lot of people have been saying he is just a dog, but he is a dog I have raised for six years since he was a pup that could fit in one hand.
He has been a great part of our family, a friend, sometimes a best friend, a workout partner, and just a great dog.
I will miss our runs, time teaching him new tricks, racing Marcus in the backyard, playing fetch with his red rope.
Mostly I will miss always having a happy and excited face to come home to – having a living being that thinks you are the greatest thing in the world.
In Morgan eyes – it is impossible to upset him, to make him angry, or to let him down.
I just hope I have not finally let him down by making this decision.
My father taught me that the greatest gifts are the hardest to give.
I hope and pray that by giving a new family a dog it will bring joy to them and a loving family to Morgan – and that I can give a better environment to my wife and child – even if it is one the harder things I have ever done.
Timmy will be moving in with a young lady this Saturday. I worry less about Timmy because he gets along with everyone and is the easiest going most laid back cat I have ever seen. I think he really could care less who owns him as long as he gets food and some attention now and then. Don’t get me wrong – I will miss him also – and miss seeing my fat Timmy hanging out, sunbathing, acting like a dog, begging for food, having his shoe fetish, always wanting to get outside, meowing and begging for food in the morning, playing with his string toys, going crazy over his catnip ball, always jumping on my lap if I try to do work on my computer, and his sneak ambush attacks on Morgan (he will slowly walk up to Morgan while he sleeps and bites him on the ear).
I will miss you both and I wish you a long healthy and happy life.
