Woohooo Pay Day !! woohoooo... *do the destri's dance* hehehehhe..so happy

So anyway I was thinking to do some interpreter and/or translator job on the side (as a freelancer) hopefully I can get it :) since they don't have any Indonesian translator. Other than that.. I'm still doing my pro-bono works for people who need it.

I went home.. my hubby wubby still sick.. I have no idea what's wrong with him, he's been sick on and off for almost 1 month.. and good thing is I haven't got sick from him being sick. Hmm.. so for dinner I made my Speciality Chicken & Meatballs Fried Rice. So yummy..

Tomorrow I will bring Krispy Kreme doughnuts (if I can find them), and orange Juice for work, how's that sounds!! :) Party time at the office !!! :) hehehehe

I Love the day after pay day :)

hmmpfff.... nothing.. nothing to say here.. one of my highschool friend will get married this coming december, and now either I can choose to go back home in September or December? seems like if we go back home in December, there will be at least 2 weddings that we can attend.. and wedding back home is not like a wedding here... wedding back home it's like a huge fiesta, at least you have to invite 500 people.. at least.. most of the time they always have to invite thounsands of people.

Because you have to make sure to invite all your neighbors & and family (cousins, nephew, nieces, grand uncle, co-workers, your parents' business partners, etc. etc.) and instead of using a head table, they will display you like king & queen with your parents sit next to you. Instead of buffet line, they will have many food stations and then each stations have a server. And the most awesome part, the guests know that they're not supposed to bring gifts... they bring the red pocket filled with money!! :) hehheheheh

Happy Sunday! :) usual stuff on sunday.. Church in the morning.. went to lunch at the Olde Main Brewing Company on Main street. Awesome buffet... we just found out they have brunch buffet, it's only $15/person... but.. they have Prime Rib, Salmon, breakfast & lunch foods, omelet station, and... chocolate covered strawberry (dark & white chocolate). Awesome foods... if you live in Ames, IA .. go check them out!!

Last night we had our girls night out (+ Tim) , me, Lisa, Tim, and Katie went to King Buffet and watched a movie at Lisa's place.. It was fun... but in the middle of chewing my food.. my temporary crown decided to pop out from my tooth.. annoying!!! but everything under controll :) hehheeh embarassing moment!!

Time to go back to sleep now.. :) I called my weekend is my 'recharging' time.. so I have to get as much sleep as I could during weekend.. so during weekdays I can be an energizer bunny again.

hmmpf... 2 more minutes to Friday !!! :) I just got home... I went home from work.. and forgot to have dinner.. and then I went straight to campus. The Math troops had their midterm today, so I had to be there to monitor them :P hehehheh

Anyway.. I was so hungry on my way home and I was thinking.. hmm did I have dinner today? I thought I did... I ate some leftover.. and I was like.. nooooo that was lunch.. :P hauhaua so I stopped by at Wendy's.

Carson is in Des Moines with the coaches... so I'm all alone tonight... just with the boys.. timmy & morgan... :) I better get something to eat and relax.. :) tomorrow is Friday !!! :) yippie....

I think I might darken my hair color this weekend, I was thiking to go back to my natural hair color. But.. the problem is.. I forgot what was my hair color before.. I know it was black.. but when I colored my hair into black... I looked like the girl in the 'Ring' movie... I remember my roomate (ringga) was shocked when I did that... hehehhe she said I looked like a ghost! :P hauhauha I saw Chommany with a darker hair color and she looks so pretty... we'll see.. even if I decided that I'm gonna do it.. I will use the semi-permanent.. so if I don't like it, it will wash away after a month.

I need to fix the destriandorf.com photo gallery... each album look different! so I need to unified them :) hehe to make it look more professional. I might do all of them using flash.

I miss home so bad... I want to go home... :( huuu huuuuuu 7 more months to go...

Cheese Curds

so for some strange reason, well not that strange actually.. it was started with Erin (my co-worker) was telling me that she will try to find cheese curds once she's off from work. So I was thinking more like those deep-fried cheese curds that you can get from A&W. But she was thinking about the cheese.. and I never had those... and suddenly I was so craving for it, so I was going to stop by at Hy-Vee and maybe try to get the frozen deep-fried cheese curds.. but I was too lazy. I went straight home and start cooking my 3 lbs chicken.

But my hubby wubby called on his way home from the wrestling practice and he told me that he will stop by at Hy-Vee since he's not feeling good and he needs some juice and some cough drops.. so I told him about my craving over cheese curds.. he got me both.. the cheese and the deep-fried stuff... I love you.. get well soon...

so carson decided not to come to his company pot luck,. and I already bought 2 lb of chicken breast.. so any suggestion what should I do with 3 lb (I have 1 lb extra from last week grocery) of chicken sitting in my freezer???

Today I got my temporary crown.. it's silver.. (in 2 weeks i will get my real crown) :( but it's alright, nobody can see it unless I show it to them :P. So proud of it.. one of my expensive tooth... people who works with me already know how much I spent on this precious tooth.. because I kept on complaining the whole day. And yes I will still complain...

There!!! you have it... how am I not complaining... just for 1 tooth..

woke up at 10:30am, went to Nikki Nails got my nails done, went to Target bought a lot of House fragrance stuff... (spent $35), stopped by at the Animal Shelter... just visiting. It's a good feeling when there's not a lot of animals in the rescue... so it means most of the animals have their own home now.. :). Went to Brugger's Bagel to get my lunch.. and then went home.

Took a nap.. woke up at 6:30pm :P hehehehhehe do our laundry.. and dishes.. groomed Timmy & Morgan.. (so they will less shedding). Took a warm bubble bath while reading the book about pregnancy that I got from carson's mom (or maybe from erica.. i forgot).. but it's a good book...

I worked 10.17 hours today !! gosh.. I need some sleep this weekend... I thought... I skipped my lunch so I could go home earlier.. and guess what??!!! 4:30pm the big boss called and told me to make 4 more copies of one of our product manual. First of all this manual has 189 pages.. second of all.. I have to bind them! and it usually takes me about 1/2 - 1 hour to bind 1 manual. Oh my.... I went home at 6:40pm... with an empty stomach...

With my empty stomach I drove myself to Wendy's, you know that it's not good to do your grocery shop with an empty stomach right?! and I'm telling you that it's also not good going to a fast food restaurant with an empty stomach..I ended up getting Spicy Chicken grilled sandwich, with french fries, and sour cream & chives baked potato with A&W rootbeer. Oh my.... now I'm so full I couldn't even finished the french fries.

Now I'm ready to have 2 full relaxing days.. just stay at home.. curled up under the blanket.. with my down comforter and feather bed... and feather pillow... aaaaahhh.. I'm in heaven....

Snowing... :( it was okay tho... it took me almost 20 minutes from home to work this morning :) I drove 20 miles per hour :P hehhehehe

So today at work.. I felt like I have so many things to do.. ended up I was so confused didn't know which one to work on first.. so I kept on jumping from one project to the other.. I worked 9 hours today because I didn't want to go home for lunch and I stayed till 6 since we had our company dinner at Thai Kitchen... (mom dad. remind me to bring you guys to this restaurant when you're in town)

Today is Nelson birthday, I didn't get the cake & card for him.. Ryan got it for all of us... I was too scared driving in snow.. anyway happy birthday to small boss !!! :)

Went home for 20 minutes and saw my hubby wubby... and then off to my other job as usual.. I know it's not good when I only see my hubby 2 hrs per day.. but hey.. the girl gotta do what she have to do to get what she wants! heheheheheh

Last night I went home from work around 11:30-ish.. the house is sparkling clean!! I'm telling you.. when Carson clean the house.. the house is sparkling!!! oh my.. he did the laundry.. he cleaned the kitchen!!! oh my.. I love him so much.. and I went home for lunch today and he made the bed!!! how lucky !!!! I'm the luckiest !!! :) I'm so blessed having a husband like Carson :P hehehehe I Love u baby!!! :)

I need to get some rest today.. I heard tonight suppose to be snowing.. and here's for tomorrow forecast:

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!! I hope everybody had a great valentine's day. And don't be sad if you didn't get a chance celebrating this valentine's day. Because me & carson didn't really do anything special.. I went home, made 'Salmon Grilled in Japanese Style' it's good an so easy.. thanks to Zeze !!! (for the recipe). And then got a nice back rub from my hubby for 1/2 hour.. :)

I got a Valentine's card from my father-in-law !! :) so cute... the front card says "To a sweet daughter"... Thanks dad!! :)

Here's the recipe if you're interested...

Salmon Grilled In A Japanese Style
Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients

1/4 c soy sauce
1/4 c sake or dry white wine
1/4 c mirin/ Rice wine
2 tb sugar
2 tb fresh ginger -- chopped
1 sm lemon -- thinly sliced
4 (5-ounce) salmon fillets

Instructions

To make the marinade: In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce,
sake, mirin, sugar, and ginger. Bring to a boil. Remove from the heat
and allow the marinade to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, pour
the marinade over the fish and scatter the lemon slices over the
fish. Marinate refrigerated for at least 4 hours or overnight,
turning the fish occasionally. Grill or broil the salmon on both
sides until just done, approximately 4 to 5 minutes per side.

so I have one of those days again.. when you feel something wrong... something not right.. but actually everything is okay... I think I'm just too worry about everything.. went home and for some reason I feel everything is not right.. still trying to make a decision should we buy that dvd-cam or we should wait till june or july. Anyway we're not gonna use it till we travel back home and when we have a baby.. and I was so worry about financial stuff.. but you know what.. we actually more than okay.. we're doing great...

Saturday we went to Best Buy, and we were for sure to get the dvd-cam... We decided that we're going to buy the Sony DCR-DVD103. So we both already excited.. looking for the bag.. and the mini dvd-rw, etc etc.. and then.. the sales girl informed us that they're out of stock on this particular item... hmmm talking about destri always never get what she wants in the first place anymore... remember all the trouble we got when we were going to buy the elliptical machine??!!.. so anyway we will go again sometime.. we're not in a hurry...

After that we went to Nik's surprise birthday party in Des Moines.. it was fun.. but I bet will be more fun if Vone were there! and ringga too... :( but anyhow... that's it.. nothing interesting..

PS: We got a Valentine's card from grandma!!!! :) Thanks Grandma.... Carson's grandma always send us greeting cards that she made by herself.. so it's very pretty and very impressive.. :)

I went back home made Double Cheese Burgers for dinner, brought them to Ames High since Carson will be busy all night today, so I decided to bring food for him :) Now I'm trying to get some house chores done so tomorrow I can relax all day long :)

Huuu Huuu so tired ! :( went to bed around 12 o'clock last night, and woke up by 6:30-ish.. went to my root canal appointment in West Des Moines, it wasn't that bad at all (still lil bit sore).. but the bad part is the fee !! :( $825/tooth ! :( huu huu but they only required 20% up front payment.. so that's not that bad at all... next thing... Crowning!!! :( that will bite me.. real bad.. $720 (the porceline one.. not the gold one). And I'm not sure whether my dental insurance will cover it or not.. :(

Any how.. went back to the office.. made it in by 10.. our loverly graphic design intern, erin.. bought me a cup of soup and dinner roll from design cafe !!! she's the best.. and once again,... I DID NOT force her to do this!! she was volunteer herself to get me the soup! :) hehehehe she's so nice.. anyway..

went to the Ames Chamber of commerce annual dinner from 5:30-8:45pm, and then now I'm at my other job till 11:30pm.. seriously I can feel all my zits want to come out from my face since I don't get enough sleep lately... this weekend I will sleep all day..

Last night, I was going to send an email to Bhavana.. you know just to ask how is she doing.. and all that good stuff.. but I ended up chatting/talking with my long time lost buddy... Lucy using Skype. I love it... skype is awesome.. but the thing is I'm using Mac.. so they don't have the webcam function yet for Mac Skype.. booooo!! but I found out that my iMac G5 has a built-in microphone.. so it was so awesome.. make me feel like I'm talking to the monitor! :P hehehehe it was fun hearing her Australian accent.. tho not as cool as british accent.. but close enough... :)

So anyone who live not in US (who knows me) please install skype and let me know your user name.. so I can communicate with you guys!! :)

I wasn't in a good mood at the office... so I decided from now on.. I'll keep my mouth shut !!! argh.... I just don't get it!! why me??!! why seriously oh why... when I talk.. I talk to people... it's not like I'm the only person who talk!!! and I don't talk to myself either... (well sometimes I do.. who doesn't??!!)

This morning I got about 56 e-mails... and all of 'em are SPAM from my blog !!! oh my.. so I just turned on the word verification on just to make sure I have no spam on my comments.

I have no picture to post.. so how bout this one.. me & my giant love-sac!! :)

Anyhow... today is our big boss birthday, went to Hy-Vee to get a birthday card for him. Also got some soft drinks for the office. So they have buy 4 12-pack for 10 dollars or by 24-pack for 6.17. I was like.. man... only stupid people would by the 24 and spend 1.17 extra! but the disadvantage was I have to carry 6 of the 12-packs to the office.

Anyhow... I managed to use the elliptical machine for 15:20 !!! :) 5 more minutes to reach my goal.. I can be only weight 104 lb but I have no power to run!!! :( hopefully by the end of this week I can reach my goal.

Finished working out... made more chocolate chip & walnut cookies for the office and ate some popcorn while watching carson play Mario Party 7... whatta fun night :)

PS: Ken just got enganged !!!! :) congratulations Ken! Lisa.. we have to start planning the tail-gating events to Ken's wedding!! :P huahauahuahu

Sorry for not updating my blog yesterday... yesterday we went to see the 'hoodwinked' I gave 'em a D- !!! I don't like it at all... good thing we only spent $4.50 for the movie... o by the way I didn't go to DSM.. since carson changed his plan and stay at home with me.. :). We'll do it some other time vone.. we still have 3 more weeks till the wrestling season over.. :)

Anyhow carson managed to install the TV wall mount yesterday, it looks great.. now I can exercise while watching the TV :) I tried to exercide yesterday and managed to use the machine for 6 minutes !! yeah 6 minutes.. oh my... but today I tried it again and managed to use it for 12 minutes !!! my goal is 20 minutes.. I can do it!!! :P hehehehe

Today I woke up at 10:30.. missed the Church !!! :( so disapointed.. we went to Ames High to see ISU & Penn State Wrestling meet. ISU won !! yippie..(like i care???.. well maybe lil bit).

Ok that's it.. I need to take out the trash.. and then go to the gas station to get some chai latte (vone's fault!), and then watch the L word. Nite nite!! :)

Potluck went really well today, most of the people actually made the food that they brought with them.. even our big boss made the food that he brought...awesome.. awesome.. :)

Saturday since my hubby wubby will be gone, I will go down to des moines and hang out with Vone.. we'll go to the Vietnamese New Year Celebration and then go to a movie (or the other way around).

I went home, grilled the chicken, prepared the sauce, cooked some rice, and voila!!! all done... hopefully it would be enough for everyone :)

PS: do you know that Asian earwax is dry and European/Caucasian earwax is wet????!!!! no wonder Q-tips doesn't help that much!!! :) This is what we use back home..

double tired.. feel like I just got hit by a truck! :( my legs are so sore! :(
anyway guard the booth again from 12:30pm till 7pm so tired yet it was fun tho... I finally got a mail opener :P heheheh from yellow pages. I saw Putri, Karen and Vincent at the career fair.. :) seriously do the Indonesian people think they're too good to find a job?? do they need a job? and yesterday I saw 1 indonesian guy.. that's it.. hmmm I was hoping more indonesian people were there... so I can talk to them... :P

went home.. stopped by at Hy-Vee got stuff for the potluck on Friday. I'm going to make the chicken skewer with peanut sauce (chicken satay).. so I prepared the meat tonight so tomorrow I can grill them all.. since I have to work tomorrow night and I don't think I have enough time to prepare them.

Anyway.. I'm so tired... hopefully I can get up tomorrow morning.. wish me luck..
